Employment Matters welcomes Laura Maresca

Laura Maresca, J.D., SHRM-SCP – Senior Consultant, Leading Matters

   Laura joined Employment Matters in early 2022 as a dynamic addition to the Leading Matters group. Laura blends 20 years of experience as an HR leader and employment law attorney to create a solution-oriented approach to consulting. Laura advises clients on all aspects of human capital management including organizational change, culture, policy development, employee/labor relations, talent acquisition, and compliance. Laura is a trained mediator, an experienced and engaging facilitator, and a recognized leader in diversity, equity, and inclusion practices. In addition to her years as an employment litigator with the Colorado Attorney General’s Office and an in-house labor and employment lawyer with Qwest Communications, Laura served as the chief human resources officer (CHRO) at the University of Denver and supervised the University’s Title IX and Equal Opportunity program. Laura was also the CHRO at Scottish RE, which included a global workforce. Laura holds an SCP (senior certified professional) credential from SHRM, an Inclusive Workplace Culture specialty credential from SHRM, and a Title IX Hearing Officer credential from ATIXA.
