Employment Matters LLC offers both Mediation and organizational Facilitation services. Mediation requires the parties’ commitment to a more formal process intended to resolve a conflict. Facilitation is a process that strives to address the wants of a group; often seeking to clarify elements of its mission, vision, goals or action plans. In some situations a combination of mediation and facilitation is indicated. An initial needs assessment best informs the process, protocols, and expectations.
Our mediators and facilitators are trained to be neutral. They are not advocates and do not represent any individual interest. Facilitators maintain focus on the issues and strive to create solutions. Participants receive equitable opportunity to present individual views and ideas. Effective time management is critical. Whether conflict presents as formal, passive, entrenched or emerging, third-party facilitation and mediation can often clarify the issues, identify root causes or dispel misperceptions.
Mediation is voluntary. Participants voluntarily commit to a defined process and confidentiality. Successful mediation results in a written agreement, signed by the parties, and enforceable in court. Employment Matters mediators attempt to elicit cooperative discussion among participants with resolution as the common goal. Mediation can be used at any time during the conflict timeline. Employment Matters LLC mediates a wide range of legal and non-legal conflicts issues.
